He used to pass by that little sprout every day, while he was going to catch the bus for his workplace. The sprout at the sideline of the road. It was thick and leafy.

The rain last night has left tiny droplets on its leaves. It looked fresh and green. The green gave him hope. Hope for something that will not fall apart. He used to see the bush growing out of nowhere on the side cracks of the road every day.

It makes him sometimes wonder about how a sprout can survive in that uninhabited place where everything around is unnatural for its existence and can still manage to grow so beautifully.

No one ever took notice of it, but it still stood there. He always looks at it and felt happy. He thought about it on his way to his workplace. It arouses questions in his mind of the uniqueness that bush was. It was different.

Sometimes things will be unnatural. Sometimes things will not favor you. It will not turn out as you thought it would be. But still, you can flower and grow.

That day while going along the same path, he saw it from a distant. It was different. As close as he came, reality hit him. It was crushed. Crushed by some vehicle going over it. There were black dirt marks on it while it lay down on the road.

Its roots uprooted and the stems broken from the hit. It hit him, hit him real hard. The hope he had was lost. The hope to shine out even if he was shamed for his color every day.

He started walking slowly towards the bus, but it has already left. He sat down on the available seat in the bus stand waiting for one to come. He was already late. He was thinking about how his boss will ridicule him again. And others will laugh.

On the way back to his place he saw the place again, looking for it. But it was gone. Maybe some sweeper swept it away.

The next morning there was no sight of the little hope he always uses to see and survive the smile on the face. It was a different feeling for him. He already lost the hope to do stand out.Weeks passed by and nothing was there to cheer on.

On a fine day, again, while walking down the same road, he saw a little sprout on the same spot. He ran towards it and smiled. A little leaf emerging from the between the concrete road. He smiled.

He can live along now with hope.
