A Traveler

Are you a traveler or a tourist ?

Reading a blog of someone I realized that people just claim to be travelers. Half of them are just tourists and just want to relax. Relax in the cozy bed of the penthouse or the cottage they rented and just chill with a view in front.

Going to the known famous places of a town is what a tourist do. He doesn’t care to discover the new places. He doesn’t care to take the trek and walk an extra mile for that spectacular view. He is there to relax and would move around lavishly and with comfort.

Traveler is the one which finds out the undiscovered places. Climb that hill and just sit alone staring at the sunrise for hours.

Traveler is the one who rides the bicycle on the beach and read a book along with it.

He is the whom who would camp under the starry night rather than being in that comfortable bed.

He will walk and eat the local food at small eateries rather than the fancy restaurants. He will talk to locals and make a conversation.

Travels soothe them. Give them ideas to work upon. Make them think about life. They melt into nature like no one can ever do.

Their most priceless things are those memories of calmness where they talk to nature and not the snaps clicked. Photographs of the perfect sunrise over the river are their best clicks.

Wanderlust calls them to every new place they visit, every new mountain they hike to, every new water body they jump into and it just becomes theirs.

Be a traveler, not a tourist.

Escape from the luxuries and embrace the beauty of nature. Because it would be the most valuable thing you will carry to your grave.
